Newsletter for Week of November 5

Hello everyone,
We took a break for Halloween since we had so many activities and because many of you wanted to go Trick or Treating so I hope you had fun! Activities will slow down in November and the vestry will be planning a few things for December and Winter Break…stay tuned!

Vestry Meeting sometime this week — all are welcome
⁃ There will be vestry meeting this week — all are welcome! We are going to be having elections soon so if you’re interested in serving on the vestry, please talk to one of the current vestry members to learn more about serving on the vestry.

Reflections on NT Challenge
⁃ I have fallen behind! However, this is part of the journey. We can always catch up, but I would like to meet to have the Bible Study Dec. 2 to discuss how to maintain the spiritual discipline of regularly reading scripture. Please come Dec. 2 and RSVP so that we can have a good count for dinner. We’ll be reading John chapter 4 and spending time on a method of reading scripture carefully and closely and devotionally.

IP Pilgrimage December 28-Jan 8
⁃ Three Framingham Students are going to Israel/Palestine with 30 other students from Boston area schools. Check out the fundraising brochure!

Urban Pilgrimage 2008 March 14-18
⁃ I am in the process of setting up a service project/pilgrimage to New York City to visit several ministries and agencies that serve the homeless. This will be a pilgrimage, where we won’t be solving homelessness, but we will be learners, from homeless people who will share their stories with us, from people who work in agencies that service the formerly homeless and from people who work for Christian ministries that serve both the formerly homeless and those who are currently without homes. We did this trip last year (to see pictures username fsc, password rams) with students from Framingham State College and Bowdoin College in Maine. If you have friends at other colleges who also have Holy Week for Spring Break, they are welcome to come too. More details later. The cost of the trip will be $50.
